Begun in the fall of 2021, the Saint Gregory the Great Children’s Choir offers a comprehensive musical education. Students enrolled in the program learn to sing with confidence music from Gregorian Chant to the present day as well as music theory. Over the course of their studies, students are gradually incorporated into the liturgical life of the Basilica through singing at Mass, Vespers, and Concerts.
Enrollment
Enrollment is open to any child between the ages of 7 and 12 years old. Students do not need to be enrolled at the Basilica School of Saint Mary. The cost is $125 per month. Please contact David Elliott, Music Director of the Basilica, for more information:
2023 - 2024 School Year
The school year begins on Thursday, September 7, and ends on Sunday, June 11th, the Feast of Corpus Christi. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at the Basilica Lyceum located at 313 Duke Street Alexandria, Virginia 22314. Parents can drop off their children as early as 3:30pm.
